Lemon Water Benefits

Lemons aren't just lemons and a lemon, isn't just a garnish on your glass of mojito. You see this in your fridge every day and probably, the only time you think it is of good use is when you have some tequila left in your liquor cabinet. There is definitely more to lemon than a bitter taste vanquisher. Lemons are filled with nutrients such as Vitamin C, calcium, iron, magnesium and even fiber that helps better digestion.

What can you benefit from Lemon Water?

1. Boosts your immune system:
We all know that Vitamin C is our best defense against tropical illnesses, and you know what fills a lemon fruit? That’s right! Vitamin C. If you’re not fond of taking chemically induced vitamins, make sure to take at least 2 glasses of lemon water a day to boost your immune system.

2. Helps improve digestion:
Lemons help improve digestion which means they can also help reduce bloating. Ever had that feeling of fullness after eating a small portion of your meal? This could be caused by your stomach having a hard time digesting your food. Taking water lemon during the day will help improve the bloating feeling.

3. Cleanses your system:
When your body generates good digestion, your body will be able to work well in eliminating toxins causing you a better and lighter feeling throughout the day.

4. Freshens your breath.
Although the acid content of a lemon is enough to give bad effect on your tooth enamel, it is also a great source of citric acid that helps prevent gingivitis and toothache.

So the next time you see a lemon sitting in the fridge, make good use of it before it dries. Slicing a medium size of lemon and mixing it with a pitcher of water can go a long way. Drink it during the day instead of plain water.

What can you get from lemon and tea?

I recently wrote about the lemonade cleansing diet (which  by the way of research is a good way to detoxify and cleanse the body) but not without its grueling and intense dieting combination. For some health enthusiast, the lemonade cleansing diet (master cleanse) can be done in as easy as 1,2,3 step routine for a month while some would sweat it out like a math exam.

But did you know there's another way to detoxify your body without depriving yourself of food?

This, I pretty much figured out myself even before my sister told me all about it. On top of our fridge is a box of green tea my mom bought when she was here. Take note I am not a fan of green tea or any tea for that matter. I go coffee and more coffee as the day smiles on me (like the lemon image on top). Then one night after we ate dinner, i still felt like eating but already full so instead of drinking plain hot water like what my lola always told me, I dunk a green tea bag in my hot cup of water and whola! few minutes later i felt better, and as the day was ending I opt to complete my water intake so I made me another cup and there started my body's regular detoxification "if you know what I mean) :D

Oh and by the way.. try squeezing few drops of lemon in your tea and yum yum! talkin' about putting some zest in your drink
